Recognized by its thick, fleshy, lance-shaped leaves with serrated margin teeth, aloe vera is world-renowned for its translucent inner gel, which consists of approximately 99% water alongside a dense matrix of polysaccharides, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and amino acids.

The plant yields two distinct substances: Aloe Vera Gel, the clear, mucilaginous jelly harvested from the inner leaf parenchyma, and Aloe Latex, a bitter yellow sap located just beneath the outer leaf skin containing anthraquinone compounds like aloin.
